Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Transparency mobile application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our App.

Description of Service

Transparency provides users with access to information about government officials, including congressional stock trades, voting records, committee assignments, and AI-generated bill summaries. We also offer a social platform where users can discuss and share insights about government transparency.

User Accounts

To access certain features of the App, you must create an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information
  • Maintain the security of your password and account
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
  • Be responsible for all activities that occur under your account

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the App for any illegal purpose or in violation of any laws
  • Post false, misleading, or defamatory content
  • Harass, abuse, or harm other users
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
  • Use automated systems (bots) to access the App
  • Interfere with or disrupt the App's functionality
  • Violate any applicable laws or regulations

User Content

You retain ownership of any content you post on the App ("User Content"). By posting User Content, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute your content in connection with the App.

You represent and warrant that:

  • You own or have the necessary rights to post your User Content
  • Your User Content does not violate any third-party rights
  • Your User Content complies with these Terms

We reserve the right to remove any User Content that violates these Terms or that we deem inappropriate.

Data Accuracy

We strive to provide accurate and up-to-date information about government officials and their activities. However, we rely on publicly available data sources and cannot guarantee the complete accuracy of all information. The data is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.

Intellectual Property

The App and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by TransparencyApp LLC and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute our content without our express written permission.

Premium Features

We may offer premium features or subscriptions. Premium feature terms:

  • Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled
  • You can cancel at any time through your account settings
  • No refunds for partial subscription periods
  • We reserve the right to change premium feature pricing with notice

Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violations of these Terms or for any other reason at our sole discretion. You may delete your account at any time through the App settings.

Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS.

Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, TRANSPARENCYAPP LLC SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE APP.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless TransparencyApp LLC and its affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your use of the App or violation of these Terms.

Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the App will be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association. You agree to waive your right to a jury trial or to participate in a class action lawsuit.

Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes via email or through the App. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

General Provisions

These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and TransparencyApp LLC regarding the App. If any provision is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full effect. Our failure to enforce any right or provision does not constitute a waiver of that right or provision.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
